I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Paraguay and was host to a bot fly larva. Paraguayans believe that the bot fly lays its eggs on your clothes while they are hanging out to dry. They believe the best prevention is to iron your clothes. After learning this, I always ironed my clothes and never had anymore problems.
